Bang and Olufsen A9

The first time I saw the Beoplay A9 speaker set up in our AudioHUB showroom I was intrigued by it's  unique design. The speakers stunning appearance has been achieved by crafting it from premium materials including wooden legs from maple and a speaker cover from fabric design company Kvadrat. The iconic design of this speaker allows it to seamlessly fit into the interior styling of any room, and with this in mind the A9 can be placed freestanding, positioned in a corner or mounted on the wall. Once you have picked a suitable location in your home there is a manual position switch on the back of the A9 to allow for room adaption which calibrates the speaker to sound it's optimised best where ever you choose to place it in the room.

Hearing music played on this speaker/furniture crossover for the first time is impressive, the sound this single unit produces is phenomenal. The circular body of the A9 houses 5 separate speaker drivers, each of these individually  powered by their own class D amplifiers that collectively deliver a total of 320 watts allowing the A9 to produce sharp, precise sounds.

The A9 speaker supports connectivity via AirPlay, Bluetooth, Chromecast, DLNA and 3.5mm auxiliary input so everybody can connect and enjoy their music whichever platform they may be using. Operating the speaker is not limited to mobile devices either because at the top of the A9 there is a touch sensitive panel that allows you to adjust the volume and also one tap when you enter the room can activate the speaker and it will play.

Setting up the Beoplay A9 is very intuitive and can be completed in a couple of minutes using AirPlay, USB cable or the free Bang & Olufsen BeoMusic app.

The Beoplay A9 is a sufficient stand alone music system for your home but this product also features Beolink multiroom technology allowing it to combine with multiple Bang & Olufsen products including their prestigious television range to become part of a wireless multiroom audio system.
